So here is the first blog post on my new website. Always lots to say about real estate in BC and I am sure you have questions. You can probably imagine that I hear “What is going on with the market?” quite a bit. The answer isn’t always an easy one because it depends on what type of real estate we are talking about. But lets just focus on residential real estate for the moment. It is almost Summer here and the number of homes, townhomes and condos for sale have increased quite a bit than the numbers we have seen in the recent past and because of this and the fact that the stress test has made it more difficult for Buyers to secure more in terms of financing the overall sales prices have come down. Things have stabilized now and as I like to say “It’s always a good time to buy!” This is it. The market is what it is now and should stay that way until after the election in October 2019. So, if you are looking to Buy then you should work with what you have to make a purchase that makes sense for you and also think about the re-sale side of it too. Now is the time to Buy but also the time to Sell if you are thinking of making a step up to something more expensive like a detached home or perhaps even a rental property. Now is a perfect time to buy some thing that was selling for $1.2 million two years ago for under a $1 million.
